WebPhone VoIP Services     WebPhone Website

WebPhone is a PC to Phone service that uses Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology and software to place calls over the Internet. WebPhone is a smart alternative to traditional phone service for long distance and international calling -- depending on your normal use, you could save hundreds of dollars on your phone bill.

Basic WebPhone package:
With WebPhone's basic package, you receive free software, PC to Phone calls for as little as 1.9˘ a minute and free WebPhone to WebPhone calls. You can download the WebPhone software on as many computers as you wish -- just simply login with your personal account information to make calls. You can also check your account balance, add funds and review your calls at WebPhone's Online Account Center. A WebPhone Calling Card feature can be added to your plan for a low monthly fee so you can make calls at low rates from any phone -- even your cell phone.

WebPhone Plus package:
All benefits of the basic plan PLUS enhanced features so you can use WebPhone for both your outgoing and incoming calls. With WebPhone Plus, you will be able to choose a U.S. phone number -- no matter where you live in the world. If you live in London and have family in New York City, you can choose a New York City phone number so your family can call you for the cost of a local call! You may have up to 5 phone numbers with your WebPhone account.

In addition, WebPhone Plus offers other features including VoiceMail, Caller ID, Call Forwarding, a Calling Card and more. Best of all, you can manage all features in the Online Account Center or remotely by phone.

WebPhone No Hassle Service
* No annoying advertisements or pop-ups
* No connection fees
* No spyware or malware
* No expensive routers or special phones needed
* Easy-To-Use, Free Software and a Downloadable User's Guide

With WebPhone basic, it's free to call other WebPhone customers. For PC-2-Phone calls, you pay only for the minutes that you use for calls. There are no advertisements, no connection fees and no cost to download the software. International calls are offered at very low rates to more than 250 countries, starting at just 1.9˘ a minute. A Calling Card feature may be added to basic WebPhone service for only $1.49 a month.

WebPhone is available world-wide. Calls can be made from wherever you have a connection to the Internet (any country that permits VoIP service). Additionally, you can make calls from any phone in 25 countries around the world with the WebPhone Calling Card.

Getting started is simple: simply sign up and download the free WebPhone software. During sign up, you choose a UserID and a 4-digit PIN to login to the WebPhone software and Account Center. WebPhone Plus customers will choose a phone number for incoming calls. You may also add funds to your account for PC-2-Phone calling. You will need to be connected to the Internet and have a headset (or speakers and a mic) to make calls.

Minimum system requirements for using WebPhone:
* PC with Pentium 200MHz processor
* 128 MB RAM
* Windows 98 or above
* Full-duplex sound card
* Internet bandwidth of 33.6 Kbps or better

They recommend you use a good headset, a microphone and speakers, or a USB phone... note that the more bandwidth you have, the better the sound quality will be on your calls.

To make calls with the WebPhone Calling Card, all you need is a phone. You can make calls from any phone -- even your cell phone.

To make PC-2-Phone calls with WebPhone software, simply open the WebPhone dialer by clicking on the WebPhone "W" icon on your desktop, (or select WebPhone from your Start menu) and type the phone number you want to call into the Phone Number box using your keyboard or the WebPhone dial pad, then click Dial. It's that easy!

When you get an incoming call a popup message will appear on your screen with the calling number or contact information displayed (if available). You may accept or decline the call. If you decline the call, it will go to VoiceMail. If no action is taken, another popup will notify you that you missed a call. (To receive an incoming call, you must be logged into your WebPhone client and be connected to the Internet.)

There is no charge for incoming calls to your WebPhone. If you use WebPhone Plus Call Forwarding, per minute rate charges will apply to all forwarded calls that connect.

Additional phone numbers (up to five) are available for only $5.00 each. Having additional phone numbers can allow your family and friends to call you for less. For example, if you live in London and have family in New York City, you can add a phone number with a New York City area code to your account. Now, when your family calls you, they will be charged the cost of a local call -- even though they are speaking to you in London.

The Downsides: Your phone number cannot be transferred to WebPhone, so you'll need to tell everyone your new number. Emergency (911) services are not yet available with WebPhone. We recommend that you always maintain an alternate means of contacting an emergency (911) operator.
