SunRocket Internet Phone Service

SunRocket is one of the largest providers of internet telephone services. Their customer-friendly policies include no set up fees, no cancellation fees and no other hidden charges. Add to that some easy-to-use web management features and it's easy to see why so many choose them over the other popular VoIP providers.

The Basics: SunRocket Internet Phone Service
  $9.95 a month plan Includes:
Free incoming calls
No extra fees
More than 12 FREE features including Caller ID, Call Waiting, and 3-Way Calling
Unlimited Calling plan is just $199 (annual billing less than $17/month)
Federal subscriber line charge $0

Gizmo adapter lets you make calls over the InternetInstalling Like the other VoIP services, setting up the SunRocket Gizmo is a snap: simply plug gizmo into the router, plug it in a wall outlet, connect your phone, and you're ready to go. DSL users simply tell Gizmo to supply your DSL username and password.

SunRockets 'Built-In' Features include several advanced services ~ some that are not even available with your traditional phone service... Why pay extra for features when you can get them for free?
    Sunrocket features:
* 3-Way Calling
* 7 Digit Dialing
* Call Forwarding
* Caller ID with Name
* Call Logs
* Call Return
* Call Waiting
* Enhanced Voicemail
* Call Waiting ID
* Click to Call
* Contacts
* Distinctive Rings
* Do Not Disturb
* Find Me
* Speed Dial

SunRocket's All-Inclusive Service comes with everything included in the Bottom-Line Price. Any cost associated with SunRocket Service is revealed right up front, there are no extra hidden fees.
* Unlimited Calling to the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico - call anywhere, anytime and talk as long as you want.
* SunRocket provides Enhanced 911 as an automatic benefit with any service plan.
* Free International Monthly Calling Credit - ($3.00 included every month) - If you frequently call abroad, you'll save. If you typically don't call abroad you won't be shocked by your next invoice if you do need to dial overseas.
* Free extra phone number - This number can be from inside or outside your calling area, as long as it is a SunRocket serviceable area code.
* No Cancellation Charges - You won't pay a penalty if SunRocket fails to meet your expectations or you need to cancel for any reason.
* Taxes are included in the Bottom-Line Price - The SunRocket price always includes all related taxes and fees.

Customer Service: SunRocket provides 24/7 customer service via email (I think it's out-sourced, but maybe not. It's really hard to tell.) Plus you can contact Member Services by 800-number 7 days a week from 7am to Midnight, Eastern Time.

SunRocket is easy to install, and once you have it installed all you will need to do is pick up the handset and talk as you would normally. The call quality is at least as good as the more traditional analog phone service.

The downsides: Even though there is no "cancellation fee", if you do cancel in the first 31 days the equipment needs to be returned - at the customers cost. But they do issue a full refund of the amount charged for those 31 days. If the account is canceled after 31 days they allow customers to keep the equipment (for whatever that's worth without the service - maybe a doorstop) and any money paid into the account is refunded on a pro-rata basis.

A broadband (cable or DSL) internet connection is required, but SunRocket service is independent of the computer, so you can talk and surf at the same time.

Some AOL broadband customers will not be able to use SunRocket. That's just the way that AOL is, they are probably working on their own version of VoIP for themselves.

Users will also need a modem that uses an Ethernet cord, not USB. If you don't have an Ethernet port, you can get a basic USB adapter from them or any electronics store to use with the SunRocket telephone adapter.
