The Downsides: In addition to the 'normal' broadband VoIP drawbacks of problems with power outages and 911 service, Net2Phone places ads in the commcenter. During registration we were required to enter a lot of personal information: birthday, sex, occupation, hobbies, interests, etc. -- and it seems that they use the information to customize the ads -- they are fairly easy to ignore, but still very annoying.
